A Nature's Paradise

A pristine land of blue seas, silver sands, swinging palms, majestic mountains and tropical forests is what that represents Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Located in Bay of Bengal, Andaman Islands are the world's last horizon of immaculate rainforests islands. These are protected the way they had developed, still occupied by tribes. History

Hindu legends say that the islands derive its name from Handuman or Hanuman, the revered Monkey God of Ramayana. Hanuman is believed to have utilized these tiny islands as stepping-stones on his way to Lanka to rescue Sita, the consort of Lord Rama.

Havelock Island

Located near Port Blair, Havelock Island is a tourist's paradise for its pristine water and spectacular beauty. The island is a treat to spot dolphins and sea turtle and offers plethora of water sports.


Andaman Beaches

The beaches in Andaman Nicobar Island look like one of those snow white sheet with crystal clear sand and some of the most spectacular views. One of its beaches, Radhanagar Beaches has even won the 'Best Beach in Asia' award and water sports like scuba diving and snorkelling are particularly popular here.


Chidiya Tapu

Chidiya Tapu

It is the southernmost corner of South Andaman. As the name suggests, it is a hotspot for bird watchers. The lush mangroves, forest envelop with innumerable chirping birds. The Sylvan Sands make it a favourite picnic spot for tourists. Lying nearby is Munda Pahad, which is another gorgeous beach. Located atop of a hillock, a forest guest house is the site from where you can enjoy a breath-taking glimpse of deserted islands. It is known as the sunset point.


Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park

This famous attraction lies 29 km from Port Blair. The blue water, creeks and tiny & big islands are the abode to best marine ecosystems. Adventure lovers must try snorkelling, scuba diving and other water sports. A wonderful world of sandy beaches, tropical forests and crystal clear blue waters, the park offers a great experience.


Red Skin Island

It is another popular island in Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, encompassing a fascinating beach. The island is the place where you can treat your eyes with the spectacular views of corals and marine life.


Corbyn's Cove Beach

Corbyn's Cove is an untouched soft sandy beach in Andaman adjacent to Port Blair. It is settled in gorgeous backgrounds of lush green coconut palms and sea. There is a tourism complex, offering all types of amenities for travellers. It is a perfect spot for sea bathing and sun basking. Water sports activities are the major attractions of the beach.


Cellular Jail

This historic attraction lies at Port Blair in the islands. Built in 1906 by the British Government, the jail witnessed the tortures and brutal atrocities to the convicts, imprisoned in the jail. As it was made up of individual cells, the prison got the name “Cellular”. Several renowned Revolutionaries like Batukeshwar Dutt, Vinayal Damodar Savarkar, Batukeshwar Dutt and Barindra Kumar Ghosh have been imprisoned in this jail.

How to Reach


By Air

Port Blair is well linked with Kolkata and Chennai by air. Tourists can also avail daily flights from Chennai to Port Blair.


By Sea

There are regular passenger ships from Kolkata, Chennai and Vishakapatnam. Ships from Kolkata and Chennai are also available. The distance between Port Blair and major cities on the mainland is Chennai - 1190 km, Calcutta - 1255 km and Vishakhapatnam - 1200 km.
