Neermahal meaning water palace is a former royal palace in Tripura. It was built in 1930 by King Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman. It is strategically built in the centre of Rudra Sagar Lake. It is the only lake palace in the whole of East India.
The palace assimilates Hindu and Islamic architectural styles inspired by the Mughals.
Highlights of the Palace
Using the flood lights, a light and sound show on the historical past and cultural heritage of Tripura is organized in the palace every evening.
Every year a boat race is organized in July/ August during the festival here.
Other attractions of the palace are the water sports facility and the migratory birds spotted all over the place.

October to March is the best time to visit when there are no incessant rains.
