Here the experience of sunrise and sunset is at its captivating best. There are facilities of pony rides that are a major attraction. The beach is virtually a fair ground with various kinds of games and food stalls. One can even shop around from the beach a variety of shells, glass baubles, kites and other decorative pieces.


Rameshwaram Beach
Surrounded by Palk Strait and Gulf of Mannar, Rameshwaram beach is a major pilgrimage centre as it was here that Lord Rama offered thanks to Lord Shiva. The sea here is home to rare sea species and coral reefs. Remarkable variety of marine life algae, starfish, crabs, sponges and sea cow are found here. The dolphins are a treat for the eyes. It is an ideal site for swimming and sunbathing.


Eliot's Beach
This beach of Tamil Nadu is the cleanest beaches of India and is an extremely calm and a tranquil place. The major attraction is a stone memorial of a Dutch sailor built in the sands of the beach. As the beach does not offer much activity, it is ideal for long walks. The beach has a few food joints and restaurants. The sacred Ashtalakshmi Temple and the Velankani Church are located at the end of this beach.
